How You Can Know Your Birthright

David had a birthright that caused him much grief at the beginning of his journey to kingship but he later became an overcome

Are You a Person With a Birthright From God?

A birthright is a set of gifts that are either from the Lord or from the enemy. If a birthright is from the Lord, it is called a prophetic gift. If a birthright is from the enemy, it is called a gift of wealth. A birthright that is from the Lord is always despised whereas a birthright that is from the enemy is admired. This birthright is always full of gifts that are cursed! What are some examples of the cursed gifts in a birthright that is from the enemy? If a person is a psychic, he has a cursed gift that he uses to glorify the enemy. If another person is a psychiatrist, he is using cursed spirits to discern what a person is being tormented by in the mind but from a medical perspective. Such people are already communicating with the dead even if they may not know. If a person has a birthright that is from the Lord, he will appear to live without most of the basic necessities of life. He may even be unable to have a place to lay his head but will eventually be made a wealthy person on earth and in heaven. When a person thinks that a person with a birthright from the Lord is poor, he is lacking in knowledge. Everyone who has a birthright from the Lord is a prophet. If there are people who are prophets and yet they do not have that birthright, they are false prophets! If a person is able to prophesy and yet is not of God, he has a birthright that is of the enemy. How do people receive these birthrights? A person who has the Lord's birthright is not a poor person on earth, he may be homeless but will eventually be made a bishop. A bishop is a prophet who has stayed in God's presence until God has promoted him to a person who can stay in a home. A bishop is not supposed to live like a prophet. He is a person who has been tested by God, tried and found to fit in God's inheritance. If a person calls himself a bishop and yet has never been a prophet, he has blasphemed God. God is the bishop and He is the one who tests all bishops. There are some people who are not supposed to be called bishops. They are the ones who failed to pass God's tests because of the shame that such tests come with. When a person understands that God has to test, he would rather go and start crying out to God to promote him rather than give himself a title that does not belong to him. A bishop has to continue in God's presence at a level that is higher than a prophet.

Will You Pay the Price For a Birthright That is From God?

A person who has a birthright from the Lord is someone who will inherit the Lord’s inheritance. For instance, the Lord has an inheritance for a person who is a prophet. He has inherited a package of gifts that the Lord has designed for prophets. What is in this package of gifts that the Lord has designed for prophets? The Lord has designed for prophets to be wealthy people in heaven and on earth. All prophets of God are not supposed to suffer for a long time but they have to go through trials that involve shame and embarrassment. They are, however, later supposed to eat from the best of the land in heaven and on earth. This is how Abraham, his son Isaac and grandson Jacob lived. The birthright was designed for Jacob even though Esau had it at the beginning by virtue of the fact that he was Isaac’s firstborn. How did Esau lose the birthright? He was tricked by the Lord to lose it.

Why You Should Know the Value of Your Birthright

Let us study what the scripture teaches us about how Esau lost the birthright.

Gen 25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
Gen 25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
Gen 25:31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
Gen 25:32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
Gen 25:33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
Gen 25:34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Esau was tricked by Jacob to sell his birthright. He despised it because he did not have the knowledge of the importance of the birthright. Similarly, many people are losing their birthrights because they do not have understanding of what a birthright is. A birthright that is from the Lord cannot be lost if its intended owner has been in the Lord’s presence. The Lord will ensure that that person finds his birthright. How will you know your birthright? Jacob was told his birthright by Rebecca. Jacob understood what a birthright was and knew that he had to retrieve it from his brother. Esau had kept the birthright as a result of his good relationship with his father Isaac. He was Isaac’s choice for inheritance. The Lord’s choice for inheritance was Jacob. When the appointed time drew nigh, Esau sold the birthright to its rightful owner. A birthright is usually not acquired through birth. Yes, Isaac acquired his birthright from his father, Abraham but God had to make the choice Himself. Had it been that Abraham could make a choice, the birthright would have been Ishmael's. God Abraham to send away Ishmael and his mother Hagar, from his household so that there would not be contention later.
